Obstacle

Our client, a multinational healthcare software provider, needed a consulting partner capable of delivering high-quality services within a strict budget. Serving over 30 clients across three different countries, they needed robust onshore and offshore support to manage their global operations effectively. Faced with escalating costs for minimally skilled consultants they found their existing partners were no longer cost-effective for their operations. This challenge created an urgent need for a more economical staff augmentation solution that would reduce expenses, expand their geographic reach and ultimately scale their IT delivery teams to meet increasing demands. Our competitive staff augmentation models and multinational recruitment capabilities led the client to choose us for providing essential resources to their global teams, entrusting us to enhance efficiency and manage growth effectively.

Solution

Our strategy involved three approaches: pairing highly skilled consultants with existing projects and needs, implementing
mini teams called Pods, and creating a multinational team of consultants that would allow work coverage over a 15-hour period every day.

To place these professionals, we followed our standard recruitment model. This involves performing multiple rounds of technical screenings to qualify candidates ensuring cultural, behavioral, and technical fit with our client.

To enhance development in the Philippines and Mexico and accelerate project delivery, we formed specialized teams known as ‘Pods.’ These specialized development teams consist of a lead, two mid-level resources, and one junior resource. By establishing these Pods, we ensured our client was able to increase their velocity while staying cost-effective. These teams also streamline the ramp-up process for onboarding new nearshore and offshore team members by pairing them with our Pod team lead for mentorship, issue resolution, task allocation, and coaching sessions. Through this Pod approach, our client was able to meet their velocity goals and decrease their delivery time, leading to more time for new projects.

With tight timelines to meet their customers’ needs, our client needed a cost-effective way to increase their speed while maintaining a conservative budget. By placing resources across the US, Mexico, and the Philippines, we were able to span a 15-hour shift starting at 3 a.m. EST and ending at 6 p.m. EST. Not only did this decrease their delivery timelines, but it was also half the price in comparison to US-based talent and only available to work from 8 – 5 p.m. EST.

In addition to providing multinational consultants to support their teams, our team members played a key role in the creation of engagement site templates that allowed their developers to enjoy a lower-code environment. This drag-and-drop functionality significantly accelerated their development process and delivery time, allowing for quicker project completion.

Outcome

Due to these multifaceted solutions, the client reduced project timelines and costs, increased revenue through new client onboarding, and achieved long-term resource savings. These savings have been strategically redirected to core business areas, enhancing overall business sustainability.
