On-Demand Group worked with a government agency to deploy development resources for a data warehouse project that remedied depreciated and broken workflows in the agency’s data quality tool and software.
Challenge
The client upgraded their Informatica software program to a new version and, in the process, twenty workflows that contained IDQ (Informatica Data Quality) were broken. The client needed ODG support to restore IDQ to those workflows and to develop several new IDQ modules.
Solution
In an effort to fix and improve the client’s system, the development team at On-Demand Group was tasked with identifying and restoring all workflows that used IDQ. The team also needed to create new workflows for enhanced matching using IDQ and to further integrate with the agency’s tax system and the data warehouse.
The solution included unit testing ETL jobs, documenting tests and results, and assisting in the deployment of ETL jobs to the production environment. This included working with the government agency’s operations staff to deploy code and provide inputs for scheduling and running of the jobs. Further, the team needed to help monitor, troubleshoot, and fix any issues in the post-production environment.
Results
The development team at On-Demand Group successfully deployed updates to the system that resolved the agency’s data integrity issues. Along with deploying these fixes, the development team was able to provide training and documentation to the agency’s staff so they could maintain and run processes when needed.
